Berhan Asmamaw (Addis Ababa, 1980)

Berhan studeerde in 2004 af aan de Fine Arts School. Zijn scenes van het dagelijkse leven doen denken aan die van Franse post-expressionisten, zowel qua onderwerp als verfbehandeling. De soms gewaagde kleurcontrasten leiden tot uiterst levendige doeken. Berhan nam deel aan twee groepsexposities in Addis Abeba  in 2003 en 2004; dit is zijn eerste expositie in het buitenland.

 

Berhan graduated from the Fine Arts School in 2004. His daily-life scenes of people are reminiscent of the French post-impressionists, both in terms of subject matter and use of paint. The sometimes daring colour contrasts make for vibrant canvasses. Berhan participated in two group exhibitions in Addis Abeba in 2003 and 2004, and now, for the first time, abroad.
